Destiny Ethiopia is an authentic tourism experience provider founded by Simegn Gezahegn Tolossa, also known as Dagiye. She is a passionate young woman from Arba Minch, Ethiopia, with experience in the leisure and hospitality sector, as well as a background as a local tour guide
Dagiye established Destiny Ethiopia in 2003 in response to the challenges she observed in the tourism industry, where hotels, local tour operators, and personal guides often fell short in their service to tourists. The sector was marked by complaints about poor service, overpromising, and mishandling of clients. Dagiye chose to be part of the solution by starting her own tour company that prioritizes authenticity, customer service, and professionalism. She aims to avoid the exaggerations and false promises that plague the industry, allowing the rich nature, culture, and history of her country to speak for itself.
As a result, Dagiye specialized in southern Ethiopia and recruited experts from around the country. Since then, Destiny Ethiopia has evolved into a tour company that treats customers as family members rather than mere tourists, embracing Ethiopian values of hospitality while also supporting local communities. Our philosophy, "Ethiopia Unveiled," focuses on presenting experiences that are as authentic as possible, encouraging visitors to seek truth and meaning in their journeys. Her suggestions for a 3 day tour were perfect and she even picked us up at 6:30 in the morning to bring us to the airport!
